Collecting and Archiving

Erasure does not obliterate; removal does not remove from memory, but over time, it may. While unsaved traces and gaps in records lead to forgetting, collecting and archiving combat purposeful or unintentional erasure of memories. In this way, archiving aids remembering but also surpasses mere documentation by playing a critical role in shaping and sustaining collective memory.
